The Road to Wembley 2020

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we are unable to hold our annual fundraising event in aid of Motor Neuron Disease NI and Ballymacash Rangers FC [our biggest event of the calendar year] at The Bluebell this year. However, this does not mean we can’t conduct an event to raise much-needed funds for both. We have decided to create an event which we hope everyone will actively participate and support. As this year would have been the UEFA Euro 2020 finals, we thought that it would be fitting to use this as our theme and conduct a physical activity which will be fun for all.

As one big Ballymacash Rangers FC family (Committee, Coaches, Players and Families) we plan to travel to the final of what would have been the Euro 2020 at Wembley Stadium via other stadiums which would have hosted key stage games.

This charitable event which has 3 Key aims;

1. Fundraising

2. Encourage active participation for club members by completing a group  challenge and promoting exercise.

 3. Educate the need to stay active to promote Mental Health and Well-being.

Our journey will begin at the home of Ballymacash Rangers FC, The Bluebell Sports Complex on 11th June and we will virtually cover the distance of 5361 miles to the final. Participants can either walk, run or cycle to achieve the distance marking of the key locations for each specific round along the way, reaching Wembley Stadium, venue of the Semi-Finals and Finals on 11th July.

The route we will take is as follows;

1. The Bluebell Sports Complex to Stadio Olimpico, Rome. Matchday 1 (1443miles)

2. Stadio Olimpico, Rome to Johan Cruyff Arena, Amsterdam. Rnd of 16 (1010miles)

3. Johan Cruyff Arena to Saint Petersburg Stadium, St Petersburg. Qtr Finals (1331miles)

4. St Petersburg Stadium to Wembley Stadium, London. Semi- Finals, Final (1577miles)
