Back in April 2020, during our very first lockdown, I found myself in the midst of an existential crisis the likes of which I hadn't previously known. Staring at the ever-shrinking walls of my small London flat I felt trapped and, like many others, very isolated from the world.
This all changed one day when I decided to embark on a project: after spending a few minutes scrolling amazon prime, skimming through half-coherently written reviews, I added a cheap lightbox and a phone tripod to my virtual basket and, just like that, 2 days later I was shooting the first of my "Between Art and Quarantine" photo series.
As I began turning my bedroom into a makeshift photographic studio I couldn't possibly have known what impact those photos would have had in my life: when I started uploading them on social media I found a community, and almost instantaneously those feelings of loneliness and impending doom were replaced by a strong sense of purpose that motivated me to create more and more beautiful content to share with the world.
So here we are now 2.5 years later and that project is still brewing inside my head. Now that I have a much bigger platform and the ability to work with a team of creatives outside the four walls of my flat, I want to conclude this project in the form of a Renaissance painting-inspired erotic film.
To achieve this I will need your help: unlike my amateur 2020 photo series shot on my Samsung, this will be a high-production film, which will require hiring a location, props, costumes, a camera operator, a director of photography and a film editor.
As you can imagine this will not be cheap so, if you wish to see this project come to life, please consider donating. Any small contribution will bring us closer to this dream project!
Thank you all so much in advance!
Love,
Circe
