Vision At Botley School we're transforming our Early Years play area. We're removing the parts that are no longer safe. We're introducing a new sandpit, raised beds, chalkboards, shading, and safety surfaces. We're freeing up the space so that the children don't get bored with static equipment but can enjoy new activities and fresh challenges all the time. We're aiming for a more natural, garden feel where possible. All to be created during summer 2022 - please help us achieve our vision!     

Benefits Outdoor learning has huge benefits for small children. It's good for them physically and mentally, and supports brain development through sensory and physical experiences. It gives contact with the natural world, helps them learn about seasons and weather, and appreciate nature. It can prompt enjoyment, wonder and excitement. It can nurture creativity and problem-solving skills, and fire the imagination. For some children, playing in our Early Years outdoor play area may be the only opportunity they have to play safely and freely outdoors, and to gain all these benefits. 

Community The wider community also use our play area, including the fantastic Botley Bridges. So this project will benefit babies, toddlers, and their families, giving them space to play outside, have fun, access support and build relationships.
