GO BIG OR GO HOME!
We want to do both 😁
For some time now, longer than I care to remember, we have REALLY struggled with the set up we currently have.
We have grown exponentially in the last few months and this has meant more food needing to be stored but no more space to place it in. Hence, myself and a few other volunteers now wear bruises as a badge to show how much of a squeeze it has been. 'Stack it high' really has taken on a new meaning with towering pet food and no room to move. However, never has anyone complained and I am so grateful to those who have put up with such ridiculous conditions - all for the cause.
Sooo......and this is where it gets exciting...........
Wheels are in motion for us to move to much, much bigger premises and with this we can provide more support to owners feeling the guilt of not being able to provide for their pets.
We know that the cost of living continues to increase. We want to be able to help many more pets which means covering a wider area. We already help in and around Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Ely but want to put into place regular support collection locations like we have in other towns. Like many things it's a bit of a chicken and egg scenario, the need is there but we can't fulfil it until we have the food but we can't take on anymore food until we have the space to store it. New premises will allow us to do this but we need your help in getting this off the ground.
Like any move, it's going to cost us. Myself and volunteers are ready to put blood, sweat and tears into making this happen, but unfortunately, no matter how much effort we put in there will be a financial amount that we won't be able to pay.
Thankfully though - when searching for grant possibilities I came across a fantastic match funding scheme. If we set up a 'Crowdfunder' account (strangely enough that is exactly what I went and did and here we are) there is a scheme will provide grants of up to £50000 so the possible outcome for us could be amazing. This is serious money and would create such a wealth of help in the running of our pet food poverty mission.
We get it, we're asking for money and times are tough, but if you can, please consider donating - remember whatever the amount, no matter how small, it will be matched so it's double bubble for us and our four legged friends. My guys - Storm, Max, Ace, Stella, Nellie and Molly have all forgone their treats this week to help others and have started the ball rolling with £20 (they don't actually know yet but they'll be fine)!
Let's GO BIG, let's get us in a new home 🐾❤🏠
