We're still collecting donations

On the 7th April 2021 we'd raised £1,799 with 55 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

 New stretch target

If we exceed out target, we will use funds to continue supporting all pupils at Queensbridge school with books to help them to thrive. We will do this through buying them the books that we know they'll love, as well as stocking the library with the best titles for them to borrow once the space can be reinstated.

Reading is at the heart of our school; it's what we do.

Queensbridge school has built a strong foundation based on the importance of books and reading. However, during the past year, the library has been closed to pupils because of COVID and access to books in the community is severely limited.

Our goal is to bridge the digital divide and put a physical book in the hands of all Queensbridge pupils. For some of our families, accessing books is more difficult due to language barriers, financial factors and lower literacy levels. We don't accept that any pupil should be disadvantaged when it comes to accessing books, as reading for pleasure has more impact on success than socio-economic background.

We know that reading for pleasure directly impacts our pupils' well-being, mental health, and academic success. Finding the right reading material can be fundamental to a pupil's success and personal growth. Putting the right books in the right pupils' hands is our goal.
