At Westfield, we aim to ensure every child becomes a confident reader by equipping all children with the skills to learn to read in an effective way. We currently use a variety of book schemes, as well as online programmes such as Little Wandle and Reading Plus, to help our children enhance their reading skills. 

We have seen a huge improvement in the reading skills of our children and, for the past two years, we have been rewarding them for their effort by providing a £5 book token to purchase a book of their choice.

We are always looking for creative ways to encourage our children to read, and we would love your help to raise some money to purchase a book vending machine. Children will be rewarded for their reading with a token to slot into the machine. They can then choose either a book to keep, or a £5 book token from the machine. 

Each machine costs £1500, and then we will need to fill it with books, so any donations would be greatly appreciated. 

We hope this novel idea will motivate children to want to read; it will provide some more excitement for them and encourage them to keep reading at home!
