We are Bolsover Bulls RFL, a rugby league club based in South Normanton, Derbyshire. We offer rugby league training and matches for children aged 3 and up. Our club is run entirely by volunteers, from coaches to cafe staff and committee members.
We are raising funds to continue to be able to offer sessions for our players. We need money to purchase kit that complies with safe play regulations, keep the cafe stocked, be able to offer rewards for player of the week and for commitment to training, to be able to put on community events like picnics, family fun days and the annual Christmas party. We also need funds to be able to put new coaches through their training so they're able to run sessions.
Our main source of income is subs, which we keep very affordable at £15 a month, and the cafe when we have enough volunteers to open it. So we rely on fundraising to top up the money we have available to invest back in to the club.
We are specifically looking for funds to purchase new winter training equipment. Any extra funds will be used for the general running of the club as described above.
There are very few social activities for kids within the local area, so it's really important that the club is able to continue running to allow kids somewhere safe and affordable to spend their time. It also allows our young talent to start their training to be able to progress to higher leagues. Our work also ensures that children have a good form of structured physical activity to work on their physical and mental wellbeing.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
