Working as a Team we are raising money for 4 local charities by running, walking and crawling the gruelling “Bog Commander”.

by Sam hall in Buxton, England, United Kingdom

local residents are taking part in this years Bog Commander challenge on Saturday 17th May 2025.

We will be participating in a gruelling 6km assault course not for the faint hearted. The assault course consists of the longest zip wire in the Peak District at over 260 metres long, watery tunnels, a death slide, a cargo net over the Manifold River and over 30 man made testing obstacles to conquer including heaps of bouncing bogs.

We would like to say we are doing this for fun but we are not so sure!

As a team we have spent over £800 in entry fees so by completing this challenge, we wanted to give something back to our community.

All money raised will be split equally between the below charities:

  • Manifold Pre School (money to go towards hi-visibility jackets for walks for kids)
  • Warslow Village Hall (money to go towards revamping the bar)
  • Wetton & Alstonefield First Responders (money to go towards replacing pads and batteries in the defibrillators)
  • Flash & Longnor First Responders (after purchasing a new vehicle last year money raised will go towards keeping that on the road and important first aid training)

It's going to be tough! Any sponsors and messages of support would be truly appreciated.
