Aim: We are a grassroots football club of 15 years aiming to raise money to help lease our own ground and build a clubhouse for our community.

Blackwood Town Boys & Girls FC is a volunteer-run grassroots football club that provides a safe, inclusive and friendly environment for players of all genders, ages and abilities to enjoy the game. We are are accredited as a Platinum club by the FAW providing the highest quality coaching to our players and positive role models in our community.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our club was founded 15 years ago and in this time has relied completely upon council facilities as we do not have our own home ground. The club has grown rapidly in the last few years with the addition to our existing junior provision of a Youth team, Senior team, 6 girls team and a children’s neurodiversity team. We are in real need of a ground and club house to call our own to provide all our players with a high standard of facilities and a place for our community to play, socialise, and enjoy being part of the club.

How we’ll spend the money raised

We plan to spend the money to help us secure and renovate a ground and clubhouse via community asset transfer. We have already identified a ground and are in talks with the local authority. The ground has 3 pitches and a small building with changing rooms that has potential for development into a clubhouse.

Community impact

We hope that by developing this ground it can be used as a hub for the wider community. It is already used by a number of other local football clubs; we hope to be able to continue in partnership and offer them improved facilities for hire at a lower cost than council rates which have become unmanageable for grassroots teams in the area. We also hope to be able to provide a social space for our families get together to hold events,  and for other community groups to host activities such as summer play days, mental health initiatives and fitness activities.
