Blackthorn is a 10-minute poetic documentary exploring Herefordshire’s Blackthorn Ritualistic Folk group as they reimagine ancient pagan traditions for a modern, inclusive audience. Against a backdrop of misty landscapes and centuries-old rituals, 'Blackthorn' blends stories of folk heritage with progressive ideals, bringing together diverse voices in a powerful, community centered revival of the Wassail.

Where will your money go?
As London-based students, the core expenses for our documentary project lie in travel to and around Herefordshire, ensuring we can authentically capture the community and its story.
Securing reliable industry standard equipment is essential to capturing the best possible footage, while food and drink are fundamental for sustaining our crew during production.
Additional costs include processing and printing our cyanotype materials, as well as distributing the finished film to festivals. Our goal is to showcase the Herefordshire community to the widest audience possible!
Thank you so much for any donations!
