BIG on POSITIVE ENERGY – BIG on POSITIVE ACTION!
“Blacka Acoustics are doing it, Magic Dragon are doing it - The Town Council,
Prism Lighting, Lorna’s House, Moo and Boom, Ralph and Rupert, Refill Your
Boots, Christian, Guy, James, Sam and Sue are doing it”. They’re all becoming
regular stakeholders in Whitchurch’s Biggest One day FREE Autumn High
Street Festival “Blackberry Fair”.
WHY – It’s simple - With the challenges our precious World faces ever more
real the Movers and Shakers at Blackberry have been highlighting and
actioning the “What/Why and How” we can all make a difference for over 14
years. We’ve shaped a day that far from scaremongering, imaginatively
connects people with each other, investing in real hope through simple,
achievable, practical positive solutions and it’s all down to you, me, us.
The power of Community.
WE – believe there’s far more vision, skill, confidence, and resilience
achieved when we share and do something together. That’s why we chose the
High Street to do it on and why we’re asking your Business to invest with us.
It’s the core of any community.
More Businesses are committing to the green challenge, thinking out of the
box, and genuinely putting the Planets needs and future generations first.
There’s never been a more important time to connect, face the issues that
matter and act positively.
HOW DO WE DO IT – By turning the High Street into a stage that mixes
great live music, theatre, colour and tradition with the inspired stories and
impassioned actions of people who are determined to deliver change. It’s a
recipe for pumping out Positive Energy. Smile, Dance, Sing, Listen, Make and
Chat. The door for Positive Action Opens. Creative investment really does
work. Whitchurch High St speaks for itself.
COME AND TELL YOUR STORY - Community Groups, Schools,
Churches, Youth Clubs, Charities, Businesses or Passionate Campaigners
It’s your day! - Join us on the Street. In so many ways you can share your
inspiring story or action for positive Social, Environmental or Holistic change
no matter how small or Big. From natural cleaning to carbon capture,
Homelessness to local/garden wild life projects. Cooking on a shoestring,
Healthy wild food to Mental Health activities - Repairing Reusing or Recycling
fashion or homeware. Maybe it’s Fairtrade or a great School project. Come and
inspire others, be the change. The Street is ours so let it shine. Write or call
for a chat to [email protected] or 0777 304 7744
WALKing THE TALK- Keeping the Fair accessible and fun for all is vital
– yet it costs over£25,000 to stage.
Did you know that between us all we’ve creatively invested well over £300,000
in the Town during the Fairs lifetime all raised by Volunteers or through In kind
support. The return on that is manyfold as every penny spent by the
thousands of local and out of town visitors to the Fair comes right back to the
High St and Whitchurch Hinterland. That’s a circular economy at work which
has to make it worth supporting.
Become a Stakeholder – By underwriting, contributing to or
sponsoring an aspect of the Fair – i.e. covering the Insurance, licensing,
Stage Hire, Road Closure Staff, Market Stall Hire, First Aid or Zero Waste
you’re investing in the Towns wellbeing and ongoing success.
Sponsor or contribute to an Act – From Rimskis Yard hilarious
Street Virtuosos - Projection Artist Andy Mckeown’s Immersive Forest
Experience – Mr Bees and Trees Flaming Simple Carbon Caper to Mary and the
Mudlarks, The Old Time Sailors - All Top Class Acts or Actioners we’re proud
of and want to bring to Whitchurch in October!
DREADZONE - The Band who opened and blew` Glastonbury away in
1995 really are coming to Town, celebrating 30 years at this year’s Pookas
Polka. They’re costing the Fair £6,000. Blacka Acoustics from Tushingham are
already supplying In Kind Sound coverage with the Town Council providing
free use of the Hall and Magic Dragon Brewery supporting Blackberry’s very
own Rustic Bar. Back this event and you’re helping secure Blackberry Fairs
future sustainability.
From £50 - £1,000 and beyond your contribution is vital to making the Fair
and Whitchurch a success.
