Hello everyone,
We are thrilled to share with you an exciting initiative that we believe could transform our understanding and appreciation of Black history in the UK. As we approach the centenary of Black History Month in 2026, we envision turning this annual celebration into a year-long journey of learning, sharing, and embracing the rich tapestry of Black history and culture. This is why we are launching a crowdfunded chat show and podcast, aimed at making Black History a year-round conversation in all educational institutions across the UK.

**Why Black History Year?**
Black History Month has served as an important time for reflection and education about the contributions, experiences, and resilience of Black people. However, we believe that true understanding and appreciation should not be confined to just one month a year. By extending this to a Black History Year, we can broaden our perspectives, challenge existing narratives, and incorporate these valuable lessons into everyday learning and living.
**About the Chat Show & Podcast**
Our proposed chat show and podcast series aims to keep the conversation alive and vibrant throughout the year. Featuring historians, educators, activists, and members of the community, each episode will delve into different aspects of Black history and its contemporary relevance. We'll explore stories of triumph and challenge, celebrate cultural contributions, and provide a platform for voices that need to be heard.
