Re-invest in the Robotics STEM club for future years
Our Vision is to go " To Infinity and Beyond...." and construct the most successful and competition ready robot.
Our story…..
The robotics branch of STEM club started in 2019, with a handful of students and a mammoth task of constructing a competition ready robot. With limited time and experience, we somehow managed to make the national finals. Unfortunately due to the global pandemic we were unable to compete in the national finals as the event itself was cancelled due to the national lockdown.
Fast forward to last year and our team once again made the national finals, competing admirably against a range of state and privately funded schools. Although they failed to make it through the early stages of the finals, they carefully analysed the event and what it takes to succeed.
George, Blake and Billy make up our veteran team and from day one of this academic year, they have kept true to their word of learning from last years event. They have worked each week to adapt their robot to compete in the new iteration of the game from First Tech Robotics. They blew away the judges in the regional finals, who commented on the level of detail in each aspect of their work, alongside the clearly defined and effective roles carried out by each member of the group. They came away with the judges ‘rising stars’ award, a fitting accolade for their endeavours, as their robotic alliance also ended up winning the West Midlands regional finals too!
The money raised from this crowdfunding will enable the student's to fine tune and further invest and develop their robot to get it match ready and compete successfully against other teams from across the country. The funding will also support the costs involved in attending the Finals in Cambridge in June.
Please support this worthy cause, many thanks.
