Hi there! If I am being honest this is really uncomfortable for me to do. Despite being in a field that is incredibly dependent on rallying community support to thrive, I have always been afraid that me and my practice wasn't worth it. This of course is nonsense rooted in a deep fear of rejection and believing that those who find success did it on their own.
These beliefs are often due to our first experiences with help. I was raised in a proud family, despite our circumstances and we viewed receiving help as a weakness. If we were forced to ask for support we kept it a secret until years later when we had processed the shame, calling ourselves strong and independent all the while.
I think the reality is that if we had asked sooner we would have become well sooner. If we trusted ourselves and in the knowing that support does not have to create dependance - or that interdependence is healthy, perhaps our relationships and lives would actually be stronger instead of pretending to be.
Anyways, what I am really trying to say is...
Can you please donate so that I can buy the things that make me happy and healthy. I am tired of getting rejected from funding applications!!! Regardless of whether I get them or not I always find a way to continue organising and making anyway. This is one of those ways.
AND...its my birthday :)
If you have any of these items and would like to donate - feel free to send over a picture and we can arrange a pick up!
