We're still collecting donations
On the 12th November 2022 we'd raised £20 with 1 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We are producing a bio bodyboard, with the aim to replace cheap throw away polystyrene ones.
On the 12th November 2022 we'd raised £20 with 1 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
As many of us know every year in beach resort areas thousands of polystyrene (pretty much single use) bodyboards get bought and most of which discarded pretty quickly, after snapping or simply the holiday (or fun) being over.
These are notoriously hard to recycle, even after the fabrics have been stripped off and the materials separated they are still contaminated with sea water and sand amongst other things. Which makes it even trickier again! Because of this, very few end up being recycled and end up in landfill.
However, over the past few years, thanks to the fantastic efforts from organisations like 'Beach Guardian' thousands have been collected and processed for recycling. This is not a long term solution to the problem though. We should not expect volunteers to continue to clean up after us in this way.
We have a much better solution to this. In collaboration with the fantastic Magical Mushroom Company. We have developed a bio degradable, compostable and also recyclable alternative. Which will not only be a better quality product than the polystyrene ones, but the best part is that the main material the boards are made of is WORTH recycling, as we will be able to very easily use the old ones to either make more boards, or recycle it into other products. Which will in turn bring our production costs down more and more, year on year.
The boards will be made in the UK, so will provide steady 'proper' jobs. Which is also a huge environmental plus, as nearly all of the polystyrene boards are made in China and asia. Therefore have travelled many miles before they even get to our beaches.
So that the holiday trade can continue to use these products, the boards will be kept to a similar price as their polystyrene cousins, they will look the same (with different designs and cool artwork from the likes of Jed Stone) and will perform and last better. So renting will also be option.

Getting the word out
Times are extremely hard for a lot of people at the moment and we understand this. If you arent in a position to help financially we totally understand, a simple share on your social media profiles goes a long way and would be massively appreciated :)
Make a donation
With many cool rewards available a donation will help us to get the first batch of these boards ready for the Summer 2023 season. The costs of the first batch will be very high and we need to keep the price of the boards down to affordable limit, so the money will be used to get the production line up and running in time for the coming season. It will go on material costs, tooling, factory set up, media and distribution.
We are a small company with honest morals, a great idea and a drive to do good. But do not have the collateral of a large company to get projects like this off the ground. Which is why we are asking for your support. Any profits made in the future will go back into the research and development of other environmentally friendly ocean going products. We will be developing this technology to use for proper bodyboards and surfboards in the future.
