We are a small, volunteer run, museum seeking to keep alive the social and mining heritage of our village. We provide educational visits to local schools and venues in the wider area. As well as free entry to the museum we offer a free brew and guided tour by an ex-miner if required. We raise funds by selling hand knitted toys and hosting coffee mornings, donations are always welcome.

We are a volunteer run and donation funded heritage museum. We aim to keep alive the mining and social history of Bilsthorpe and the wider Sherwood area by maintaining a free to visit museum and providing visits to local schools and community organisations by ex-miners, as well as hosting school and community group trips. We also have an archive of the local Chad newspaper, which can be accessed for research purposes. We can only keep our museum running by fund raising coffee mornings etc. and with donations from our kind supporters. Visitors are assured a welcome and can expect a free hot drink during their visit and a tour with one of our ex-miners.
