Who are we?

Boyne Hill Cricket Club was founded in 1890 - 134 years of cricket history.

We offer cricket for all levels of ability with 4 adult sides in the Thames Valley League on a Saturday and a team in the Berkshire Sunday League.

We recently formed a ladies team who are now playing competitive league cricket.

We have been supporting junior cricket for over 30 years with competitive League cricket and over 200 members at age groups U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and U19, with girls sides at U9, U11 and U13. We also run coaching sessions via the ECB All Stars Programme for 5 - 8 year old boys and girls. Approximately 50 children attend these weekly All Star sessions.

Why are we crowdfunding?

The club is constantly looking at ways to invest in our facilities to create the best environment for both playing and non-playing members. Recent investments include an artificial wicket, an electronic scoreboard, a roller and mower for the ground and new carpets in the club house amongst many other smaller investments.

Our next priority is to refurbish the training nets. First installed nearly 15 years ago, these are in desperate need of refurbishment to ensure enjoyment and safety for all sections within the club.

With training taking place most days at the club and players of all ages coming down in their own time to use the nets, they have seen a lot use causing wear and tear and creating inconsistence bounce and holes in the netting. To ensure the best training facilities for our members these need to be refurbished.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The cost of full refurbishment is £22k, which includes replacing the matting and the underlay at both batting and bowling ends in each of the 3 nets and new netting.

The club will be able to fund the majority of this through money raised at Fireworks night and through our partnership with Ginger Jolley's nursery, but need a final push to help us get over the line with the aim to complete the refurb this summer.

The more we raise, the more quickly we can start looking at our next investment project.
