The aim of my project is to have the funding to publish a book that I have written for adopted children who are aged 3-5 years.

Hello, I have worked with children, young people and families for almost thirty years in a variety of settings in  local authorities, charities and the private sector. I have gained valuable experienced supporting children in care, care leavers and adopted children. I have undertaken training, qualifications and  i have spoken to other professionals in the field to equip me to write a book that is appropriate for adopted children.  This has given me an understanding of what they might need to support their journey, the resources such as books, professional support and guidance that families can benefit from.

As an adoptive parent myself I also understand the resources that are available such as books that you can read with your child to support them to understand their adoption. I have spoken to an adoption book author, and i have shared my ideas of a book about a bear with them .The story of the bear  about life story of how her journey to meeting her forever family, how the two identities are part of who she is and how knowing who she is  helps her  to feel fulfilled, the heart becomes bigger throughout the story and as a result of how she feels Betsy can dance on the stage, and   be who she wants to be.

I have contacted  the publishing firm below, and they would like to publish my book.  https://i2ipublishing.co.uk/

The book will be available once published to retailers, online and a number of independent book shops. I will be able to sell copies of the books that receive as part of the contract. Also, I can donate aa coupe to adoption and foster agencies. I have links to foster agencies, and in the past volunteered for Adoption UK. As a result, I will be able to promote the book, and this can increase the participation in my project. The book also has a section for how parents can read the book with their child, and some services who can support them.
