Bessbrook Bowling club
We are a small cross community outdoor bowls club that is open for all and best of all FREE. Players range from 14 right up to 80 and we want to grow the club in the local area.
Our mission is to attract young players from the local schools, churches and social clubs.
Why are we crowdfunding?
After the recent pandemic and the economic downturn funding for the club has fallen significantly. Our sponsors who we relied upon for kit and equipment are no longer helping. We are now solely reliant on the funding from our players.
More recently we wanted funding to buy new bowling equipment for junior bowlers which the club is struggling to afford.
How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. If you want to run your own fundraiser to support us, maybe a sponsored activity or similar, use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
How we’ll spend the money raised
We plan to purchase new bowls equipment to allow young bowlers to learn the game and make the sport enjoyable.
This kit contains everything you need to entertain a whole class or large group, containing 16 bowls of each colour, 8 jacks and lots of equipment.
Activity Booklet
Bowls Buddies have produced a 30 page A4 Activity Book that is ideal for Schools, Sports Partnerships or Clubs that want to engage children. This is included with all the kits.
Community impact
The bowling club is a great way of meeting new people and provides an activity that can be played by people of all ages.
By introducing a new activity to children and grown-ups who have not previously engaged with the more traditional sports activities we hope to create a safe and fun environment for everyone to try in the local community.
