Aim: Help us fund a promo for a film about Albanians who risked everything to save Jews in WWII — a powerful story of honour, courage and hope

Funding Pitch,  Besa: Code of Honour

A powerful new project by Jimi Tihofsi and Alan Trow, creators of Kesulat

We are raising funds to produce the official promo for The Code of Honour — a compelling new feature film that tells the untold story of how Albanians risked their lives to protect Jewish families during the Second World War. Guided by the ancient code of Besa — meaning “to keep the promise” — Muslim and Christian Albanians alike defied the Nazis and refused to hand over a single Jewish person.

While much of Europe turned its back, Albania stood firm, offering refuge and humanity in a time of widespread horror. This story is not widely known — but it should be.

The Code of Honour is a story of courage, conscience, and moral clarity in the face of evil. It is a timely reminder that ordinary people can make extraordinary choices.

Why This Film?

In an age of rising division and historical amnesia, this story has the power to connect, educate, and inspire. But to bring this narrative to the screen — and attract full production backing — we first need to create a powerful promotional short to demonstrate the vision, tone, and impact of the final film.

The promo will serve as a key tool for:

Securing major production and distribution partners

Engaging global audiences and press

Attracting grants, private investment, and broadcasters
