Beneath Your Skin - Short Film

Aim: Launching my short film, a supernatural atmospheric horror exploring new editing and cinematography techniques.

I've worked in the entertainment industry for years, mostly as an editor on various projects. Now I'm ready to take a push in my career, moving from post-production into directing. It's a significant leap that i've been preparing for a long time, and your support can make this transition possible!

BACKGROUND

I’ve built a track record in consistently solid creative work, studying film and creative media for 5 years, securing my degree in it, and working in the video/film industry for 6 years after that. I've assembled a passionate team of professionals volunteering their expertise and invested my own savings to get started. To properly accomplish this vision I need community support from those that support me and the arts.

Two years ago, I lost my dad. In the months that followed, something unexpected happened, grief brought me back to writing. The stories that emerged were darker and more honest. I realised I'd been letting my creative voice go quiet while building a career in commercial editing. Recently, I’ve been lucky enough to work on some amazing projects, and the creativity I feel flowing through me on set is something unmatched. 

I had been experimenting with this concept for a while now, and I’m finally ready to put it on the screen. 

THE FILM

Through fractured timelines, experimental editing and ritualistic cinematography, a witch's seductive encounter spirals into a psychological power struggle when she discovers she's a sacrifice in her lover's occult design.

This atmospheric experimental horror uses witchcraft as a lens for examining cyclical abuse, how power corrupts, how victims become perpetrators, and how patterns repeat across generations. We're crafting visceral reactions through stylistic camera work and editing that pushes creative boundaries. 

Crowdfunding has become essential for independent cinema. Your contribution supports passionate storytelling and pushes a creative career focused on bold, authentic films. Supporters receive rewards from film credits to limited merchandise, plus the satisfaction of backing new and original voices in cinema ( of course!) 

Through community support, we'll not only complete this film but submit it to festivals where it can reach broader audiences and open doors for future projects for me and my team. This is my first major crowdfunded project, and I'm honored you're considering being part of making it happen!

• Location hire - Using local venues to create the perfect atmosphere
• Professional kit - Renting better kit to ensure this project is to a high cinematic quality

• Festival strategy - Submitting strategically to niche fests and major festivals, taking advantage of early bird deals.
