Serving a multicultural populace, the Centre is open to all. Its rooms accommodate a variety of groups, bringing multicultural communities together and thereby fostering cosmopolitanism. Amongst its clients are faith gatherings, exercise classes, silver surfer ITC classes, dog training sessions, dance groups, respite sessions for parents of disabled children, advice surgeries, sports sessions and participants in coffee mornings, bingo sessions and public meetings. It also functions as a recycling centre, receiving donations of unwanted clothing and household items for purchase at giveaway prices to the needy and as an inexpensive venue for wedding, christening and birthday parties and wakes.
The Centre is self-funding and it is the job of the volunteers of the Association to raise funds to pay for the upkeep of the building, its environs, for equipment, insurances and the like. This necessitates spending countless hours, not just on administration but on going out into the community running information sessions and fundraising activities at community fairs and school fetes.
