A community led ambition to combat knife crime through the power of inclusion and opportunity within a not for profit football club.

by Beckenham Town JFC in Beckenham, Greater London, United Kingdom

Introduction:

Beckenham Town Junior Football Club is a non-profit organisation dedicated to nurturing young children and promoting inclusion within the local community. Our club provides a safe environment for children to develop their football and life skills while embracing the art of teamwork and discipline.

Project Goal:

We are seeking financial support through crowdfunding to help subsidise the costs of our 'lay down the knives, pick up your boots' campaign. This is specifically aimed towards London's disadvantaged teenagers in todays society who feel they have no alternative but to enter the world of knife crime. In a society where discipline in schools is difficult to exert and a world where a lack of authoritative figures exist, we now have a society wide problem with knife crime. BTJFC is the open door that these children can walk through and look to transform their lives for the better. With training programmes to level 1,2 and 3 coaching, refereeing courses or just simply playing football for a team, we want to support the transformation our children deserve. We will need to purchase new equipment, expand our outreach to education programs and enhance our infrastructure and resources. With the support of our community, we can demonstrate the value of joining a club over joining a gang.

Why Support Us:

Community Impact: Your contribution will directly benefit older children/teenagers in and out of the Beckenham area by providing them with access to quality coaching, facilities, and opportunities for personal growth and a path away from knife crime.

Youth Development: By investing in our club, you are investing in the future of so many young players, helping them build confidence, team work, leadership skills, and a lifelong passion for sports. Sport plays a key role in mental health and our youth program has a proven positive impact on our teenagers.

Non-Profit Commitment: Beckenham Town Junior Football Club operates on a volunteer basis, ensuring that every donation goes towards supporting our youth programs and maintaining our facilities.

Funding Needs:

Campaign against knife crime: Subsidise coaching courses, referee courses, signing on fee's and on going subs to play for a team, anti knife crime advertisement through social media and physical adverts, community events to raise awareness.

Facility Upgrades: Improvements to our training grounds and facilities to create a safe and inspiring environment for our players.

Equipment Purchase: New football gear, training materials, and kit to enhance the player experience and promote team unity.

Outreach Programs: Funding for community events, workshops, and initiatives to engage more children in our programs and promote inclusivity.

How You Can Help:

Donate: Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference in the lives of our young athletes.

Spread the Word: Share our crowdfunding campaign with your network to help us reach a wider audience and achieve our funding goals.

Volunteer: Join us as a volunteer coach, mentor, or supporter to directly impact the growth and success of our club.

Conclusion:

Beckenham Town Junior Football Club is more than just a football club - we are a community that believes in the power of youth development and teamwork on and off the field of play. Your support through this crowdfunding initiative will enable us to continue providing valuable opportunities for all children to develop a love for the beautiful game and learn valuable life lessons. Together, we can empower the next generation of children. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
