The Cause
We are Doorways Middlesbrough we feed, clothe and help the homeless, benefit sanctioned, people with addictions, vulnerable and disadvantaged people of Middlesbrough. We provide a homemade hot meal and dessert with unlimited hot/cold drinks. We give out clothes, shoes and toiletries and make up food parcels and signpost to other services so our service users can get the best possible help. We are a safe space for everyone and we offer a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on should our service users wish to disclose to us. We treat everyone with dignity and respect and like our own family. We serve on average 65/70 people each time. We do not discriminate against anyone and we do provide Halal and vegetarian options.
We (volunteers and trustees) currently fund the majority of this ourselves as we can't bare to see anyone suffer. We are running in cannon park congregational church temporarily and we only have a few more weeks that were allowed to stay there for. We do have a permanent premises ready for us to move into but we desperately need help to get in there as we need;
