Bear - Fringe 2025

Aim: We are raising money to take our show, Bear, to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year from 18th-24th August!

Coffee Cup Productions are heading to Fringe for the first time :D After a brilliant run at the BT Studio in Oxford, we are bringing Bear to Edinburgh for even more to see! This show has been in development for many months and we're so excited to share it with you.

Who are we?

We are Coffee Cup Productions, an Oxford student production company. It was started by two friends who love all things drama, Priya and Sasha, and since starting the company they have put on four original productions! The company has an interest in fostering new writing and creating an inclusive theatrical environment for all.

What is the show?

• Twisting the stories of familiar fairytales such as Goldilocks and Red riding hood and intertwining them with the viral social media “Man vs Bear” debate, Bear tells the story of a Girl who goes on a camping trip, where she is saved from a bear attack by what seems to be a knight in shining armour. She is brought into a log cabin where she is safe, until the Man’s true colours show...
• Inspired by the tales of women from around the world, this two-hander with Man and Bear played by the same actor explores duality, violence, manipulation and revenge, delving into one of the most profound fears for women, and the reasons why most, without hesitation, would rather encounter a Bear in the wild, than be trapped in a room with a Man.
