Project Bauhaus:
Can you help me get the fascinating untold story of a female teacher at the Bauhaus captured via audio play? By donating a few quid, you will fund a drama series on how an unlikely woman in 1920s Germany came to influence a famous school in Weimar, led by architect Walter Gropius and supported by artists Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee and Lyonel Feininger.
Grunow's legacy is now largely forgotten. This 6-part series seeks to redress that by shining a light on her influence and how it informed the approach taken by her male counterparts of the time.
Financing:
Together with my own money, I am using the proceeds from a production I put on last year but I would really appreciate help to cover studio and post-production costs.
Benefits to you:
You will receive a preview of the full series ahead of official release. You will be able to ask the playwright (that's me) any questions about the history of the Bauhaus, the main players in the years spanning 1919-1924, the legacy of the school, and any aspects of playwriting, production or performance.
