We support anybody affected by self-harm: people of any age who self-harm, as well as those who support them, and aim to break down the stigma surrounding self-harm. We provide UK-wide virtual support, face-to-face in Leeds and worldwide online peer support, as well as workshops, training for professionals, printed and on line resources, advice on self-harm issues and a volunteer development programme.

0Everybody in Battle Scars has lived experience of self-harm and everything we do is peer support delivered with honesty, compassion and genuine understanding. We accept people as they are, help them set their own realistic targets and walk that path alongside them. We encourage and empower them to live their lives by helping them manage their self-harm, acknowledge even their tiniest achievements and build their tool kit to manage life in healthier ways.
Self-harm is an indication that something is wrong, that the person is distressed. It's a way to regain some control over a situation, life, emotions and thoughts.
We work with people of all ages and genders, their families and with professionals. Our team is made up of a small number of paid staff and a much larger number of volunteers. All funding has a direct impact on our service users who play a large part in service development and are always at the centre of all we do.
