Golden Empire Boxing Academy is a voluntary non profit organisation that takes young people all across the uk and sometimes even internationally to compete and develop as both boxers and people.
Why are we crowdfunding?
The affordable subs our boxers pay just about covers our rent and some of the fuel for travelling, but we really struggle when it comes to bigger events needing accommodation, yet we don’t want our boxers to miss out on life changing opportunities and experiences.
How we’ll spend the money raised
On the 8th/9th&10th of September we will be hoping to attend the Barum box cup in Ilfracombe, however the accommodation is proving very costly at a total of £1800…. A figure that the club simply doesn’t have as we depend on our monthly subs to get by paying rent and travel with our boxers.
I’m the two previous attendances we have done extremely well, coming away with gold medals and belts! Something these kids never forget!! [upload an image here]
Community impact
Within the community we work with people from all ages, all backgrounds and all abilities. We work with schools from infant age and all the way up through to adults with perhaps difficult backgrounds. In short Boxing is needed by many for so many reasons and the impact it has on lives is simply amazing. It breeds discipline, confidence, respect, self respect and an overwhelming awareness for others. In our gym you will find people from all classes, and all professions, the fortunate and the not so fortunate all working together as a team…. As a family!! There is no bond like the bond you find at our club, and it’s needed and embraced my many.

How you can play your part
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
