The Background
For 25 years, Bank Hall Action Group and The Friends of Bank Hall, (in partnership with the Heritage Trust for the North West) have been campaigning to save the beautiful Grade II* listed Jacobean manor house, Bank Hall in Bretherton, Lancashire.
After many highs and lows, the project to rebuild the historic building commenced in July 2017, part funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and our Development Partners; Next Big Thing Ltd, and is now nearing completion in 2020.
This wouldn’t have been achieved without the support of many organisations, visitors, members and friends; regular and new. We thank you sincerely.
The Future
Our campaign is far from over, we are entering the next chapter of this long running story.
The Hall and roughly 15 acres of parkland have been kindly ‘gifted’ to the Heritage Trust for the North West on a 999 year ‘peppercorn’ lease from the Lilford Trust, supported by Land Agents Acland Bracewell.
Whilst The Friends of Bank Hall have been caring for the Hall and Grounds since the late 1990s, and have made significant progress in recreating a beautiful woodland garden that thousands of visitors enjoy each year, there remains a lot to do.
We are now turning our attention to the first task of creating a new visitor entrance through the Potting Sheds and former Greenhouse Area with a pathway to the Hall.
The Ask
This is where we need your help, in order for us to continue creating a space that our visitors can enjoy, we need to raise funds to enable this work to take place.
Please help us to restore the wider historic setting of this beautiful building.
Thank you.
