We're still collecting donations
On the 19th May 2020 we'd raised £445 with 22 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Hello! Thank you so much for visiting my page!
I am going to be SHAVING MY HEAD to raise money for the Bats Conservation Trust.
In these troubling times - Bats are facing increased threats because of misinformation about bats and covid-19, with some communities culling bat colonies out of misguided fear. It is very important that we share the facts - TL;DR this pandemic was caused by people, not bats.
'The animal source of SARS-CoV-2 the virus behind the COVID-19 pandemic, has not yet been confirmed. It is important to note that subsequent transmission of COVID-19 is from person to person. It is transmission between people that has spread the disease globally.'
Bats are key pollinators, and the world's natural pest controllers, saving farmers billions of pounds a year. Many are threatened, and they need our help and to share the facts.
You can read all about this on the BCT website here - https://www.bats.org.uk/about-bats/bats-and-disease/covid-19-and-bats
Your donations will go directly to the Bats Conservation Trust, to support their vital work.
Thank you so much for your help!
I will shave my head when we reach my funding goal :)

Here are some of the fact highlights from the article -
Did COVID-19 originate in bats?
The animal source of SARS-CoV-2 the virus behind the COVID-19 pandemic, has not yet been confirmed.
It is important to note that subsequent transmission of COVID-19 is from person to person. It is transmission between people that has spread the disease globally.
Did bats cause COVID-19?
- No, the pandemic was caused by people.
Deforestation & intensive livestock farming will bring wildlife into much closer contact with humans & livestock than would naturally happen, causing a spillover event.
Do bats carry more diseases that other animals?
- No, bats don’t host any more disease-causing (zoonotic) viruses than any other groups of animals (mammals and birds) of similar species diversity.
Would culling bats stop the disease?
- No, culling bats will not end the COVID-19 pandemic or any future emerging infectious disease outbreaks. To prevent outbreaks we need to stop uncontrolled habitat destruction and control the trade in wild animals
What is BCT doing about it?
The Bat Conservation Trust has joined with more than 240 other organisations from around the globe to call for the World Health Organisation (WHO) to recommend that governments worldwide ban wildlife markets and the use of wildlife in traditional medicine.
Thank you so much for reading! Every £1 helps :)
I really appreciate it,
