The Edinburgh Fringe is EXPENSIVE! We are a team of young early career creatives bringing exciting new work to the fringe this summer! Back Seat is about the shared experience of a journey in the back of a car. Inspired by Annie Baker, Martin McDonagh, and even a little Samuel Beckett, the absurdism of a journey in the back of a shared taxi (for copyright reasons NOT an UberPool...) and confinement with a stranger... or two. When two strangers get in a taxi, they talk, and talk, and talk again, over minutes, hours, perhaps years. They meet, they laugh, they fight, until someone, or something, changes the journey… A brand new dark comedy play from the team behind The Cherry Orchard at the Oxford Playhouse, and Blue Dragon, loved by audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe 2023!
We need your help to raise money for accommodation, travel, marketing materials (including the lovely flyers we hope to hand out to you this summer!) and the final costs of the venue. Please consider donating anything you can.
The Edinburgh Fringe won't know what's hit it this year... get ready for an hour of comedy, absurdism, and head-scratching, but please help us get there first!
