Baby Cafe Penge was launched in 2014 as a breastfeeding support group for new parents and their babies, offering a mother-to-mother focus, in a warm and compassionate environment. With homemade cakes and hot drinks, Baby Cafe enables parents to feel relaxed and looked after in the challenging early days of life with a newborn.
Baby Cafe Penge is run by and experienced NCT trained Breastfeeding Counsellor, Kate Cameron, and a team of Peer Supporter volunteers, all of whom are/were breastfeeding mothers themselves.
Mothers at Baby Cafe tell us they appreciate the personalised, caring support and being listened to, the opportunity to meet other local mums in a warm and friendly space, the atmosphere and ambience, and the support to keep going. One mother wrote "The advice and support gave me the confidence to transition from bottle feeding expressed milk to fully breastfeeding my twins once they were old enough to latch and feed confidently. Thank you for all the tips, they really made a difference."
It is vital that we continue to provide this service free of charge by applying for grants and through fundraising initiatives, as government funding and NHS services are insufficient in this area of parenting. Funds raised will contribute to our venue hire costs and refreshments.
Please support the future of Baby Cafe Penge by donating the cost of a cuppa and cake. Thank you so much for your support.
