Who are we?
Southampton Amateur Rowing Club (SARC) is a vibrant community sports club dedicated to fostering a love for rowing in a fun, engaging, and competitive environment. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or new to the sport, we welcome individuals of all ages and abilities to join our rowing family. With a strong focus on youth development, we offer numerous opportunities for young rowers to thrive, while also providing support and encouragement for adult rowers at any level. At SARC, we believe in the power of teamwork, perseverance, and community spirit.
Why are we crowdfunding?
At Southampton Amateur Rowing Club (SARC), we’re dedicated to providing the best possible experience for our rowers, but we need your support to keep our club running smoothly. We’re raising funds to purchase new rowing boats, oars, and safety launches, as well as to carry out essential repairs to our existing fleet. Additionally, we need to invest in gym equipment and rowing machines to enhance our training facilities. As winter approaches, our club is also in urgent need of a new boiler to keep our members warm and comfortable. Your support will ensure that SARC continues to thrive as a community hub for rowers of all ages and abilities.
How we’ll spend the money raised
Every penny raised through our crowdfunding campaign will be carefully allocated to ensure Southampton Amateur Rowing Club (SARC) can continue to provide top-notch facilities and equipment for our members. Depending on the money raised, here's how we'll spend the funds:
Oars and Safety Launches – Purchasing new oars and safety launches to ensure our rowers are well-equipped and safe on the water.
Repairs – Carrying out essential repairs on our existing boats and equipment to extend their lifespan and maintain high performance standards.
Training Equipment – Upgrading our gym with new rowing machines and other fitness equipment to enhance our members' training regimen.
Clubhouse Boiler – Replacing our old boiler with a new, energy-efficient model to keep our clubhouse warm and welcoming throughout the winter months.
New Rowing Boats – Investing in additional boats to accommodate our growing membership and to keep our crews competitive.
Your contributions will directly impact our ability to provide a supportive, engaging, and competitive environment for all our members. Thank you for helping us make this possible!
Community impact
Southampton Amateur Rowing Club (SARC) is more than just a sports club; we are a cornerstone of the local community. By fostering a love for rowing, we bring together individuals of all ages and backgrounds, promoting fitness, teamwork, and personal growth. Our youth programs provide a positive, structured environment where young people can develop their skills, confidence, and discipline.
We also offer opportunities for adults of all abilities to stay active, connect with others, and achieve their fitness goals. Beyond rowing, SARC is a place where lifelong friendships are formed, and community spirit is celebrated. We actively participate in local events, support charitable causes, and open our doors to anyone interested in experiencing the joy of rowing.
By supporting SARC, you’re not just helping a sports club; you’re investing in the health, well-being, and cohesion of the Southampton community. Together, we create an inclusive space where everyone can thrive.
