Knowledge isn't Free, You have to Pay Attention. 🌱
This a story told about four people named Somebody, Everybody, Anybody and Nobody.
There was one important job to be done.
Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about it because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it. Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
In the heart of Hoddesdon, a dedicated team of volunteers known as Ayurveda Hoddesdon CIC embarked on a mission to transform a forgotten wasteland into an oasis of healing and wellbeing.
What started as an effort to clear rubbish has blossomed into an inspiring project that embraces biodiversity, permaculture, and ancient Ayurveda wisdom.
The wasteland, which is believed to be unowned and once part of a river network predating man-made canals, presented a unique opportunity for the Ayurveda Hoddesdon team to create a vibrant and diverse space that nurtures both the environment and the local community.
With dedication and perseverance, the team studied the land’s Biodiversity, History, and Permaculture, and developed a set of workshops and activities for individuals seeking connection, rejuvenation, and education.
Next year, the team plans to offer bush craft and forestry lessons with a qualified tutor, inviting participants to delve into the wonders of the natural world and learn essential survival skills.
The transformation of the wasteland is expected to attract a wide range of enthusiasts, including nature lovers, tourists, cyclists, pedestrians, boaters, and families looking for a serene escape.
With plenty of activities in store, such as camping weekends and private bookings for school discos, christenings, and birthdays, this sanctuary is set to become a truly versatile destination for all.
Unfortunately the neighbouring aggregate factory cut down over 100 old native trees in mid November 2023 & 2024 and disposed of the evidence. They reported the crime and was informed nobody could assist them and that they should seek legal assistance.
View now is of ugly power station. Need to replant more trees and hedgerows.
Thankfully Network rail did tree care to help them on 4 weeping willow trees next to train track by steel bridge and UK power networks are due, as Willow tree next to main electricity line in need of urgent assistance.
The constant storms recently have massively delayed their progress.
They are pending planning applications for a shed to prove that the land is agricultural and security for our gardening equipment.
Looking ahead, Ayurveda Hoddesdon team plans to explore potential partnerships with the mental health and education sectors, recognizing the profound impact that the natural environment can have on well-being.
This collaborative effort seeks to integrate holistic practices into mental health and educational settings, creating meaningful experiences for individuals seeking healing, growth, and connection.
With its deep commitment to environmentalism, sustainability, and community activism, Ayurveda Hoddesdon demonstrates the potential of individuals to come together and make positive changes in the world. Dharte

Got the kids with you? They should be pleased to hear that Rye House Kart Raceway is 15 minute's walk away for karting races on a choice of circuits.
All safety equipment is supplied at the venue.
Anyone not so keen on belting around a track can also have a go at laser combat and mini golf.
Happy to mess about by the water?
There’s plenty to do around Ayurveda Hoddesdon CIC.
Follow the River Lee Navigation from Fieldes Lock (five minutes) down to Lee Valley Boat Centre (50 minutes) and hire a pedalo for a potter down the canal, or watch the gaily painted barges coming through Brick Lock (55 minutes).
Birdwatchers head for RSPB Rye Meads Nature Reserve (15 minutes) to follow boardwalks among the reeds and (hopefully) spot kingfishers and snipe along the way, However be quick as this is set to close down soon.
Budding botanists should go along the River Stort to Hunsdon Mead Nature Reserve (an hour) for colourful displays of wild flowers in early summer.
And if you’re out for a stroll with no particular place to go, meander along the river banks to a local waterside pub for a pint and bite to eat.
The historical gatehouse where King Henry v111 wife Catherine Parr grew up is also interesting.

Caring for the earth isn't just some weird hippie thing.
I live there and so do you.
The most a greatest form of activism is to be a living example of the type of people that you want to see walking this earth.
We have a meeting soon with Network grid, their legal team and contractors as we do not agree with the amount of damage required toward our vegetation.
