This 26.5-mile journey will span a variety of terrain and include a total elevation gain of 2,713 feet.
By supporting Citizens Advice Perth and Kinross, we can help ensure that everyone—regardless of their financial situation—has access to the support and guidance they need.
Many people assume that we’re a government service, but we are a local independent charity, so fundraising efforts like yours are vital.
“This money is life changing for me and will enable us to start living life and not just exist. Thanks again - you do an amazing job and make a difference in people's lives”
From keeping our homes warm in the winter to navigating difficult periods in life like unemployment, separation, health issues or problems with housing we all experience challenges that are overwhelming to face alone. If you don’t have a support network, feel shame about your position or English is not your first language, overwhelming can become impossible. That’s where Perth CAB can help.
“… so kind, helpful and understanding. Really eased my anxiety – I can’t thank them enough”
Over the past few years, Perth CAB has seen an unprecedented surge in levels of demand from people across Perth and Kinross, and we continue to work tirelessly to help those in need. People are at the centre of all that we do and by supporting us, you can help us build strength and resilience in our community.
Anyone and everyone can need us from time to time - from families struggling with in-work poverty, elderly clients living in rural areas, single adults losing their sole income, clients struggling with the changes to the benefits system, single parents and more. We pride ourselves on offering a sympathetic ear, without judgement and with robust training that lets us offer all possible options to our clients
“My problem was dealt professionally and swiftly with great communications along the way”
We provide free, independent, impartial, and confidential advice to anyone who needs it, empowering everyone in Perth and Kinross to assert their rights and access justice. We are here for people at their most vulnerable, offering advice when it matters most.
“Incredibly useful, I got all the information I was looking for and felt much more confident! “
With your help, we will continue to improve people’s lives.
Just last year, our CAB helped more than 9,000 people across the whole of Perth and Kinross with 30,500 issues such as accessing benefits, housing, debt, keeping food on the table and understanding their rights and entitlements.
More and more households locally are struggling through the cost of living crisis and are being forced to make horrendous choices like rationing their energy use. This winter alone, we helped 1,700 people to keep their homes warm.
In all we achieved £5 million of additional income for clients (including benefits, refunds, reduced council tax, food and fuel vouchers) and helped address over £1 million of debt.
£500 could cover an Advisor's travel expenses over many months, enabling us to conduct home visits to vulnerable clients. This personal outreach fosters comfort and reduces feelings of isolation among those we support.
£1,000 could cover the cost of five additional training sessions for our volunteer advisors. Volunteers are at the heart of what we do, and training helps them gain the essential skills, knowledge and confidence to both help our clients and to potentially move on to employment or training opportunities outwith the bureau.
£15,000 could help us continue to provide outreach support in communities housing some of our most vulnerable clients – building essential rapport and trust so that we can help people get to the heart of their issues and find solutions that work for them
