Help us cover the venue costs of this unique, multidisciplinary event on autotheory and build a catering fund.

by Autotheory Conference 2022 in Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom

Autotheory: Thinking through Self, Body and Practice is a unique interdisciplinary, hybrid conference being held across Glasgow and online from 26 to 28 October 2022.The event features a host of cutting-edge talks, performances, workshops and presentations, by an international base of artists, performers, and researchers who are currently (re)defining and expanding ‘autotheory’ as both a radical feminist arts practice within which we can ‘think with and through the body’ to overcome social, racial, class-based, gendered, and epistemic injustice, and as a novel, empowering and emerging methodology.

Join us for three provocative days of edgy, non-traditional papers, presentations, and collaborative practices designed to challenge the expectations of what an academic talk is, planted within the unique multidisciplinary context of Tramway - a Glasgow-based arts venue - as well as a day situated in the bright, inspiring Senate Room at the beautiful main campus of the University of Glasgow. Register to attend in-person or online here.

Our Crowdfunder Campaign

Here, we are asking participants and supporters to donate to help cover some of the costs of the conference. We have secured funding for the majority of the conference costs, but have a shortfall for the venue fees. As academics, practitioners and creatives in Arts & Humanities disciplines will know, funding is very difficult to come by and more and more conferences are unable to provide in-person events or catering. It's important to us to create an inspiring space for autotheory-enthusiasts to come together and we'd also like to be able to offer hot drinks catering to make the event more comfortable for delegates and to provide that oh-so-important coffee-break space for networking.

As such, we ask for your support to

  • help cover high venue costs
  • build up a catering fund

Our initial target of £250 will ensure that we meet the necessary venue costs. We are also asking for donations at registration to contribute to this amount.

Our stretch target of £500 will allow us to provide hot drinks catering to our delegates.

Donations of any amount are deeply appreciated.
