Hi, I’m Sophie Howard, and I’m autistic and alongside my sister have created Autiverse-
We need to raise £10,000 to make Autiverse a reality. Every donation will help us build a place where autistic young people can feel proud of who they are — not ashamed, not alone.
For most of my life, I felt like I didn’t belong. I struggled to understand my emotions, my reactions to the world around me, and the overwhelming sensory experiences that most people seemed to handle without a second thought. I spent years trying to “mask” just to get through the day — and it left me feeling exhausted, lonely, and unseen.
Now I’m a mum, and I’m watching my autistic daughter and niece go through the same thing.
That’s what pushed me to create Autiverse — a space I wish I’d had when I was younger, and one I want for my daughter and every other autistic child growing up right now.
Autiverse is an online sanctuary for autistic teens (13–19), where they can feel understood, celebrated, and connected. It will include a safe website, uplifting educational tools, and a podcast that shares real stories, interview cool autistic celebrities and people in business and authors :) — including voices from well-known autistic people who can inspire young minds.
This whole idea came from lived experience — and it means the world to me. When I shared it with Simon Squibb, he didn’t just listen — he believed in it. He’s now backing the project and encouraging me to get it off the ground.
Now I’m asking for your support too. Please get behind our movement- the money is much needed to transform lives and will be put to so much good.
Thank you for reading this, and for helping us create something truly needed. 💙
