Autisfun Group

Autisfun Group-  North East of Glasgow. We officially started this group last January. A bunch of local mums who all have kids with Autism&Additional Support Needs. We all dedicate our Friday nights volunteering to ensure lots of other local kids and families have somewhere to go, (we are the Blue Crew)  somewhere the kids can have fun, feel safe and just be themselves- no judgement, no barriers and no hassel. Adults get time to meet and form friendships with other families who are on similar journeys. Our team have helped out so many families outwith our usual Friday nights at group. We have been helping with filling out forms, giving advice/signposting, gave advice on benefits and external services, been listening ears for each other because we all know that- a problem shared is a problem halved  and my goodness there's days when we all need to just vent off. We have continued to reach out to each other wether it be in the twilight hours when our kids are turning day into night and running on empty or wether it's a day where we are busy ourselves in amongst our own family chaos, to organising events for the adults aswell as for the kids. We provide social support,put on Coach trips for families to attend, days out, organise special events where our families can fully participate, we try to open up new experiences where everyone can take part. Doing the kiltwalk will help us raise funds for our group, every little helps us out. Moneys raised will benefit our kids are at group, wether it be to help with hall hire, or put towards toys and allow us to organise new outings, let's face it our kids love nothing more than going on a new adventure with a bus load of friends  😊
