COVID presented us with one pandemic to deal with, the current pandemic is one of trauma, anxiety and depression, some of which is due to COVID and some has always been there. We desperately need affordable and available mental health services, and educational support that helps us to live a greater quality of life.
We are a small team of dedicated and qualified people who bring a variety of knowledge and skills to this project. We have opened a centre where the general public can access therapy, groups and courses that contribute towards better mental health and relationships.
Our mission:
- To alleviate the mental and emotional suffering caused by developmental and relational trauma.
- To equip and empower the community to overcome trauma using psychoeducation, therapeutic services, community groups and the provision of safe spaces.
- To break taboos around mental health by opening dialogues, creating partnerships, and transparently sharing experiences.
- To support affordable therapeutic services, allowing the community access to a wider provision of mental health care.
We have a particular interest in trauma, and the overcoming of early (developmental) and relational trauma. We also seek to equip counsellors and psychotherapists with knowledge and skills in the management of client trauma, and to develop a team that can work with those in the community who have disabilities.
