This fascinating book unveils the unique tale of Langham Dome, an innovative training facility for anti-aircraft gunners, representing the first instance of virtual reality long before the computer age. Additionally, the book tells the history of RAF Langham, which was active during World War II and the initial years of the Cold War. The authors, Mick and Mark, who also serve as joint archivists at the Langham Dome Museum, have spent the past four years engaging visitors with tales of vision, ingenuity, bravery, endurance, and sacrifice that they have gathered over time.
The Langham Dome Museum is a multi-award-winning, fully operational restoration of an anti-aircraft defence trainer. It draws thousands of visitors annually and is recognized by TripAdvisor as being in the top 10% of attractions worldwide.
Don't be fooled by the tiny size of this cracking museum. We spent a fascinating 2 1/2 hours here. The superb displays inside tell the story of the Dome and the airfield in a beautifully succinct way" Danny G. TripAdvisor
