Ashley Vale Allotment Association (AVAA) had its centenary in 2017. For that event several plot holders gathered pictures, stories and historical research into an exhibition. Wildlife activist Maggie Moss was central to this process and AVAA has commissioned photojournalist Carrie Hitchcock (www.carriehitchcockphotography.co.uk) to collect this material into a book in her memory. Please support us by pre-ordering a copy of the book when you donate £15 to the project.
Carrie will be collecting more stories and pictures to complete the book. Please use the 'Contact Project' link on this page to:
- Contribute a story in writing or send your email so Carrie can contact you
- Arrange to meet Carrie to tell your stories and share photographs and artwork. We are especially in need of pictures of community events such as our Produce Show, wildlife walks, cider and wreath making, hedge laying, etc.
We aim to collect stories and pictures during the spring and summer with a provisional publication date at the end of September.
