I am the founder and CEO of DocTime, Bangladesh's leading telehealth organization that strives to provide access to affordable, quality healthcare services across the country. With almost 6 million people’s lives devastated by the recent floods in Bangladesh, the situation is dire.
People have lost everything – their homes, crops, livestock, fish farms, and life savings. Entire communities are submerged under water. The impact on daily life is unimaginable. Houses are fully flooded, rendering families homeless and without access to basic necessities. In addition to the immediate loss, the post-flood challenges are immense: access to clean water, healthcare, and rebuilding livelihoods are critical priorities.
I have personally visited the flood-affected areas with my DocTime team. We have been on the ground, delivering food, water, and rescue aid. We’ve rescued families trapped by rising waters and have provided essential supplies to those in desperate need. But the need is far greater, and we want to do more.
DocTime’s mission is to help these communities recover. We want to ensure that the flood victims have access to both clean drinking water and essential healthcare services. By installing 50 hand tube wells, we can make sure that families have a reliable source of safe water, which is crucial for preventing waterborne diseases in the aftermath of the floods.
In addition to water, healthcare is a major concern. With many local health facilities damaged or overwhelmed, access to doctors and medical care is limited. DocTime will deploy medical camps with doctors on the ground to treat patients directly. Additionally, we will offer our telehealth services free of charge to flood victims for the next three months, enabling them to access doctors remotely, regardless of their location.
This is a critical moment, and we have an opportunity to make a difference. By supporting this project, you will help us provide clean water and healthcare to thousands of families affected by this disaster. Together, we can help them rebuild and recover, ensuring that their basic needs are met as they work towards restoring their lives.
