Arise Special Mothers Support Fund - Special Needs

The Arise Special Mothers Fund was set up to support Mothers raising young people and children with special needs in Africa. To date, very little or virtually no support is available to those in this category. There's significant stigmatisation and isolation leading to well being being of mothers being affected. A mother that gave a testimony further triggered the idea of this annointed funding.We want to reach more people in Need.

From Despair To Hope - How the Story of a Mother Triggered I and other Mothers to support and Start a fund for African Parents.

"Please I just want to pour my heart here for the past month, it's been challenging for us parents raising children with disabilities in Nigeria especially Lagos. For the past 11 years, this is my second time after almost 5 years of not accepting her and start worrying about her diagnosis. We parents are trying our best to take care of them. No matter how you save it's just enough. My girl has Cerebral Palsy and would be on drugs and diapers for life and she is non verbal too. The cost of diapers is increasing daily and as if that's not enough, the drugs too. Now we can't order a ride for therapy or to see neurologists. The cost of drugs is three times and that of travel too. I have accepted and love my daughter so dearly but things are tearing me apart".

The fund has raised approximately 290000 Naira by well wishers July 2023 from a parents group.
