An access friendly computer for a deafblind man
We did it
On 30th November 2023 we successfully raised £1,140 with 35 supporters in 51 days

We are supporting our friend Eric to buy a Macbook because it is the best computer for his access needs as a deaf and blind man.

by Hormoz and Jane (Result CIC) in Salford, England, United Kingdom

Eric is a Salford based deafblind man who is active within the disability community. The image above shows how Eric sometimes communicated via a deafblind interpreter who uses finger touch with Eric's hand.

Eric is proud that he has recently been made Chair of Salford Disability Forum, a role he will take on in November 2023.

This is an incredible achievement for Eric.

He does not currently have a functioning computer and needs the new computer:

- because he is deafblind and Apple's access is the best

- to access the information he needs to do his job

- to improve his access to communication.

From Eric: 'Thank you everyone for your support. It is very much appreciated. It will help me to get access to the equipment I need to be able fulfil my new role as a leader in the local disabled community. You are helping me to help others.'

Thanks to the brilliant '500 Acts of Kindness' we already have a good start but we need to help raise more funds to get Eric the computer he needs.

Please help us to get this vital pirce of kit for Eric so that his access needs can be met in taking up his new role.

Thank you.
