Who we are!
Hi, I'm Daniel, the writer-director of An Absent Mind. This is a 10 minute short film that explores the ideas of loss and grief from the perspective of the protagonist Reg, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. This film will aim to raise awareness on the disease, its symptoms, the emotional effects on the family and the patient's struggle to navigate day to day life.
We have an amazing team on board of ambitious filmmakers who share a love for cinema and its creation process.

Director's statement:
This film covers a sensitive subject that is Alzheimer’s disease and is very personal to me. Alzheimer’s has been in my family and I am well versed with the topic, its symptoms, and its impacts on day to day life on friends and family.
I wanted to tell this story from the patient's perspective and show their day to day experience living with Alzheimer's. I believe this hasn’t been shown before from this point of view and would give audiences a different outlook on living with the disease, and help view Reg as human rather than treating him differently. Furthermore, help bring to light what the patient is going through in order to help them any way they can so they can still enjoy life. Some key inspirations from film and tv include Afterlife, The Father, Good will Hunting. They share similar themes of grief.
