Just £20 makes a huge difference to so many people...
🏏 Who We Are
Alvanley CC is entirely amateur and 100% volunteer-run. Every penny that comes in to Alvanley goes directly to improve and maintain the club. Alvanley has teams from the Reception age to the 5 women's and men's teams. More importantly, the club's future (our young players) currently number well over 200!
Community Impact 🤝🏼
The huge number and wide range of young people that come to Alvanley, and the community groups that use our facilities and come to spectate, benefit so much from our club. Keeping our grounds, clubhouse and general upkeep of our facilities is costly, and as a CASC (Community Amateur Sports Club) we need all the help we can get to continue to ensure that our grassroots cricket survives. Helping future generations to gain a sense of community - whether they continue to play cricket into adulthood or not, is vital in developing important life skills, and fundraising makes it accessible for all, not just the privileged few.
What The Money is Needed For
This project needs to raise £8500 to buy 4 new sightscreens. Sightscreens are used for matches and training for batters to sight the ball against the background and are essential items. Although my kids tell me the sightscreens aren't going to help me bat any better, I'm doing it for those who it will help 😉.
About Our Fundraising
The stump that our own Simon Gee famously uprooted in stumping a Calmore CC batsman in the Village Cup Final at Lords in 2021 will be taken back onto the Lords pitch and then heroically relayed back to Alvanley over 6 days.
A major part of this fundraiser is a stump relay. We are relaying a stump from the ground at Lords back to Alvanley. Imy and I will be doing the Sandstone Trail leg from Beeston Castle to Alvanley Cricket Club.
🙏 Thank you in advance for your support.
