Seeds of Growth is a project raising funds to help the people of Birahimpur: Bangladesh with emergency supplies and longer term projects. It has grown out of the work of one Birahimpur man, who now lives in Hastings, East Sussex, and who has been helping the village for the past 18 years.
Seeds of Growth co-founder Catherine O'Toole Scott has visited Birahimpur on numerous occasions; 2016 to take a survey, followed by projects in 2018 and 2019. These projects provided communal pumps and sanitation, roof repairs, as well as completing many other small projects. Such projects involved providing a deaf and dumb 16 year old girl with a sewing machine and a course with a seamstress, and a 12 year old deaf and dumb boy with a bicycle and football, both children having no access to education or provisions.
Seeds of Growth try to meet many aspects of need in the village, from the deaf-dumb child to the child who needs school fees, or the parents who need a roof over their heads to protect themselves from the extreme climate. We depend on the generosity of our supporters to help us to provide.
