On the 6th February 2024 we'd raised £310 with 3 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We have created an inclusive space for individuals of all ages to come together through creative activities, fostering a sense of belonging and togetherness. In doing so, we not only enhance the well-being of our local youth but also address the prevalent issues of loneliness and isolation in our society.
Seaside, Eastbourne, faces economic disadvantages, putting its young population at a higher risk of engaging in anti-social behavior. Our goal is to expand our activities by offering cost free structured and unstructured programs, providing people with more positive options for engagement. Our space is open and accessible, allowing young individuals to develop essential life skills, improve their emotional well-being, and establish strong relationships with both peers and multi-generational adults who support our initiatives.
Education and Skill Development: We offer a diverse range of workshops and classes suitable for all ages and skill levels. From teaching the fundamentals of knitting and sewing to helping individuals master quilting and costume design, our goal is to create opportunities for everyone to learn something new and valuable.
Intergenerational Connection: We believe in bridging generational gaps. By bringing together people of different ages, we aim to facilitate meaningful interactions and learning experiences. Younger community members benefit from the wisdom of their elders, while older individuals enjoy the energy and enthusiasm of youth. Our space encourages authenticity and embraces the diversity of human expression.
Sustainability: Environmental responsibility is at our core. We proudly recycle, recover, repurpose, and rescue every material used in our crafting projects. This practice reduces waste and educates our community about the importance of eco-conscious living, demonstrating that with creativity and skill, new life can be breathed into nearly anything.
Social Impact: We measure our success not just in terms of the crafts we create but also in the positive impact we have on our community. Through regular gatherings, events, and open days, we aim to alleviate loneliness and isolation, promote mental well-being, and nurture a sense of joyful pride in everything we create for ourselves and the community projects we support.
Financial Accessibility: Operating in an area of economic deprivation, we ensure everything we do is affordable to everyone. Our classes and workshops for children and young people, with your support, are all 100% free.
With your funding support, we will expand our existing program to introduce more young people to sewing, knitting, crochet, crafting, hat making, costume design, and a variety of new activities and workshops. These offerings will include art and creative expression classes, skill development workshops, and participant-led activities like guerrilla sewing. We will provide young people with opportunities to explore their interests, develop skills, and engage in positive and constructive endeavors.
The funding will help to cover our core running costs and maintain our space. Our additional activities, recycling shop, and paid classes cover our additional staff expenses. With our core costs covered, there is no limit to how our programmes can scale up.
No Skill Requirements: Our activities are designed to accommodate people of varying skill levels, with no prior experience or expertise necessary.
No Limits: We encourage creativity and self-expression, with guidance available to help people turn their ideas into reality. Our doors are open to people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and religions without discrimination.
That's how All Kinds of Wonderful happens and we really appreciate your support!
