Alison Snowdon walk 2025

Aim: We are raising money on behalf of my sister Alison who passed away from Glioblastoma in April 2025. We will be walking up Snowdon

My lovely sister Alison passed away this year following a diagnosis of Glioblastoma. To everyone who knew her. She was funny, witty, had a very dry sense of humour, never minced  her words, fiercely loyal and loved very much by her family and friends. 

Her diagnosis came as a big shock to us all. She had not even officially retired. She fort a very hard fight, trying every treatment available. This is when we discovered that the treatments for this type of cancer are very limited and there isn't a lot of  research. Glioblastoma is a stage 3/4 cancer as soon as you get it, there is no cure and there are not many people who live longer than 2 years after diagnosis. 

I wanted to do something that helped raise awareness but also raised vital funds for research. I am not doing this alone.

My son in law Jacob was known by my sister Alison as The Rock God. This is due to him playing drums and being in a band for a time. She liked him a lot and he made her laugh. We will be doing this walk together and he promises to wear her favourite outfit, the tutu, if we raise enough money so please donate whatever you can.
