The “friends” is a group of people connected to Alcester Academy who raise money to help fund the “extras” that make school life better for the students. In the past we have funded:
- basketball equipment and refurbishment of the trampoline
- refurbishment of the LRC
- picnic benches for students
- equipment for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
- and much more
At the start of each year we set a target to raise money for a specific goal. At the start of this year we aimed for £6'000 for a set of Clever Touch Smart Screens that can be used across the school in different departments to enhance teaching and learning.
We hold regular fundraising events within our community to help achieve this goal and with your support we will be able to give our students the very best opportunities to help them be the best that they can be in the future.
On top of this year's goal we are also raising funds to pay for the refurbishment of one of our buildings after their music hut became unfit for purpose.
After many awesome years of Rock 'n' Roll Mayhem the famous ‘Rock Academy’ or ‘Music Hut’ has come to the end of it’s life! This was a crucial performance space for our musicians and performing artists. As a result we are looking to fit out a new Studio which will be our new home moving forward!
So far the Rock Academy have raised £5000 of their £15000 target through their many live music events over the last few years!
Alcester Rock Academy has always been a community based non profit venture and has helped to inspire and nurture hundreds of budding musicians over its 16 year existence.
